Easy Vegan Gozleme (GF)

Easy Vegan Gozleme (GF)

This easy vegan gozleme is made with gluten free wraps, as well as vegan fillings. Gozleme is a traditional Turkish dish that consists of a thin flatbread typically filled with various ingredients and then folded in half and cooked on a griddle or a hotplate. Normally the flatbread is made from a simple dough of flour, water, and salt, which is rolled out into thin rounds. After filling the dough rounds, they are folded in half, sealing the edges to encase the filling. Then, the gozleme is cooked on a hot griddle or hotplate until the dough becomes golden brown and crispy, and the fillings are heated through. It’s often served with a squeeze of lemon juice and sometimes a dollop of yogurt or a side of salad.

The fillings can vary widely, but a popular option is spinach and feta. To make it vegan, I used Violife’s vegan feta which helps create a lovely creamy filling when melted. I also added pine nuts to add an additional texture crunch to this easy vegan gozleme.

To make this gozleme super EASY – I simply used GF/Vegan wraps! These whip up in no time, just combine spinach, feta and pine nuts – add to wraps, and press in a saute pan for 3-4 minutes per side.
